To be accredited, a solicitor must have at least five years of full-time practice, including at least three years in criminal law, and pass demanding assessments: a written exam, a mock court hearing and a case briefing. Accredited Specialists must also renew their accreditation each year and complete extra professional development to keep their skills current.
